Peace Begins With How We See Each Other

Peace has a high vibration as a word. Apple tree having spring flowers. Nature is perfection.
April brings our attention outward.
Beyond our own lives. Beyond our borders.
It asks a simple question.
How do we see each other as nations?
Too often, countries meet through fear.
Through power. Through control.
Leaders speak in threats.
People are reduced to numbers.
Or worse, to enemies.
But a country is not an idea.
It is people.
Families. Children. Lives unfolding each day.
Every border holds human stories.
Every conflict touches real hearts.

Peace between nations does not begin in grand halls alone.
It begins in how we think.
In how we speak about “others.”
In whether we choose respect over blame.
We are taught to divide.
Us and them.
Right and wrong.
Worthy and unworthy.
But dignity is not selective.
It belongs to everyone.

Apple tree so graceful and beautiful this spring! All these trees were planted last October with my help in Yorkshire.
We can hold differences.
Without removing humanity.
We can disagree.
Without dehumanising.
This is not weakness.
It is wisdom.
The future of peace is shaped now.
In conversations.
In awareness.
In the values we choose to live by.

Tulips planted under a fruit tree in Yorkshire last October are blooming this spring.
So this month, pause.
Listen more carefully.
Speak more thoughtfully.
Remember what sits underneath it all.
We are human beings.
Living on the same earth.
Sharing the same present, possibly past and same future.
Peace is not distant.
It is built, moment by moment.
Through respect.
