A Conversation with Lena Jung 🌱

We’ve all been there — standing at a crossroads, mind spinning, trying to figure out which way to go. What career path to choose at this time in my life?  Leave that relationship? Start something new? The pressure to make the “right” decision can feel overwhelming.

I recently had the chance to sit down with Lena Jung — a double PhD holder, Jungian coach, yoga teacher, Ayurvedic practitioner, and practitioner of shamanic energy medicine — whose work bridges science, psychology, and intuitive wisdom. She has a beautifully grounded perspective on how we navigate life’s biggest choices.

Lena Jung

Lena, was there a moment when you realized something was missing from your external path?

“For many years, my life unfolded in worlds that seemed very rational and externally focused — academia, business, energy systems, climate work, leadership, and media. And yet, underneath all of that, another journey was always happening in parallel. A quieter one. A more intimate one. A journey toward understanding the human soul, the nervous system, emotions, intuition, healing, and the invisible layers of life that cannot be measured only through logic.

Over time, I understood that transformation does not happen only in politics, economics, or energy systems. It also happens inside human beings. And perhaps the deepest crises humanity faces today are also invitations for inner transformation.”

How did you start listening to that inner pull — and how do you know when to trust it?

“Many of the most important moments in my life were not planned intellectually. They emerged through intuition, inner nudges, synchronicities, deep exhaustion, heartbreaks, unexpected encounters, silence, and dreams.

I did not move toward healing, Jungian work, yoga, Ayurveda, shadow work, or shamanic practices because it was ‘trendy.’ I moved toward these paths because they helped me survive, reconnect with myself, and remember what truly matters.

Sometimes our soul whispers long before our mind understands. Healing begins when we slowly learn to trust our inner knowing again.”

When it comes to big life decisions, what do you recommend?

“I do not believe there is always only one ‘perfect’ path. Life is more alive than that. But I do believe there are paths that expand us and bring us closer to our authentic essence — and paths that slowly disconnect us from ourselves.

The ‘right’ choice often does not arrive as loud certainty. It usually arrives as a subtle sense of peace, an inner expansion, a feeling of lightness in the body, increased vitality, or a quiet but persistent pull that does not disappear over time.

Fear can exist even when something is right for us. But deep contraction, chronic heaviness, and abandoning ourselves repeatedly are usually important signals to listen to.”

So, how do we actually make the right decisions in life?

Based on everything Lena shares, it comes down to this: the right decision is rarely the one that silences all doubt — it’s the one that feels most aligned with who you truly are. Instead of searching for a perfect, fear-free answer, we can learn to read the quieter signals our body and intuition are already sending us. Does this path expand me or shrink me? Does it give me energy or drain it? Does it feel like moving toward myself, or away? When we shift from purely logical analysis to this kind of embodied, honest self-inquiry, something shifts. We stop looking for the “objectively correct” choice and start listening for the one that carries a quiet, persistent sense of truth. And sometimes, when clarity doesn’t come immediately, that too is part of the process — not a sign that we’re lost, but an invitation to slow down, go inward, and trust that the answer is already there, waiting to be heard.

Do you have a practical exercise for someone genuinely stuck between options?

“Instead of asking ‘Which option is objectively the best?’, try asking: Which path allows me to become more myself? Which choice gives me more energy rather than draining it? Where do I feel more alive? If fear disappeared for one moment, what would my heart choose?

The body is incredibly wise. Our nervous system already knows the answer before the mind catches up. Life moves in cycles — sometimes clarity comes immediately, and sometimes we are invited into periods of uncertainty so we can deepen trust. Not knowing is not failure. Sometimes it is sacred preparation.”

What helps us actually hear that inner voice amid so much noise?

“One of the biggest challenges of modern life is constant noise. We consume information endlessly, compare ourselves to others, and disconnect from our own inner rhythm.

Intuition rarely screams. It speaks softly — through silence, the body, dreams, emotions, creativity, and moments of deep presence. This is why practices such as meditation, mindful movement, journaling, spending time in nature, conscious breathing, or simply slowing down can become profoundly healing. Not because they ‘fix’ us — but because they help us hear ourselves again.”

Why does this inner work matter beyond just the individual?

“Inner and outer transformation are connected. How we treat ourselves influences how we treat others, nature, relationships, communities, and the planet.

The future will not be created only through technology or systems. It will also be created through consciousness, emotional maturity, compassion, and intuition. Perhaps one of the bravest things we can do today is to live from authenticity rather than fear. To choose presence over numbness. Connection over performance. Inner truth over external pressure.

And to remember that even the smallest moments of love, awareness, beauty, kindness, and self-respect matter deeply. Because they do.”

There’s something both simple and profound in what Lena shares. The “right” decision isn’t always the loudest or most logical one. Often it’s the one that, beneath all the noise, quietly feels most like you.

Maybe the real question isn’t which path to take — but whether we’re willing to slow down enough to actually listen.
